It’s back and it’s all set to be bigger and better than ever before! The Royal Queensland Show/The Ekka returns this winter to the Brisbane Showgrounds, and it’s ready to host another huge ten-day celebration of all things agricultural in Queensland. This year’s event will feature more big music performances at the Gourmet Plaza Music Stage and the XXXX Stockmen’s Bar and Grill Music Stage, as well as a fantastic choice of food to get your hands on. The Main Arena will feature a huge show every evening, including Queensland Harness Racing, Wild Colonial Boy Wagon Chase, Coco-Cola Dance Off, Lowd V8 Utes Super Challenge, Wheel Standing Monster Trucks, Showtime FMX, fireworks, and more! On top of that, don’t miss interactive animal experiences at Animal Boulevard, animal competitions and judging, and a fun array of carnival rides and market stalls for the whole family. The Royal Queensland Show/The Ekka has something for everyone! Don’t miss it on August 10 until August 19 at the Brisbane Showgrounds.

Take part in the Brisbane Marathon Festival this winter! This year’s event will five different race distances that will take its participants past the city’s most famous landmarks, offering a fantastic opportunity to see Brisbane and work up a sweat at the same time! The distances will include the 45.2km Marathon, The Pedders 21.1km Half Marathon, 10km Run/Walk, 5km Run/Walk, and the 2km Mini Marathon - offering a race for all ages and fitness levels. The Brisbane Marathon Festival will also be hosting live entertainment and good food to enjoy at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens. Get running with the Brisbane Marathon Festival on August 5.

Enjoy a day of Indonesian culture and food at Pesta Rakyat! 2018’s event is back with another fantastic program tat will take place in front of the Brisbane City Hall, featuring cultural entertainment and authentic cuisine straight from Indonesia. Pesta Rakyat is a fantastic community event each year in Brisbane, and a great day out for culture-vultures in Queensland! Attend Pesta Rakyat 2018 at King George Square on August 19.
