The closest bus service is the Cultural Centre Busway on Melbourne Street. To get there:
Head northeast on Peel Street towards Hope Street

Ferry / CityCat Terminal [1.2km]
The CityCat runs along the Brisbane River starting from Hamilton through the city to the University of Queensland at West End with various stops along the route. The CityCat terminal closest to South Central is adjacent to QPAC at South Bank.

Wheel of Brisbane [0.8km]
The Wheel of Brisbane stands 60 metres tall, illuminating the South Bank skyline and river with thousands of LED lights at night and presenting an exciting new landmark for visitors and locals alike. The wheel has 42 air-conditioned, fully enclosed capsules each capable of seating up to 6 adults and 2 children. Each ride is of 12 to 15 minutes duration (which roughly equates to 3 or 4 wheel rotations) and offers unique panoramic 360 degree views of the river and city.
Tickets: $15 for adults, $10 for children 12 years and under and $2 for children aged between 1 year and 3 years. Private gondolas (carriage) may be booked ($95). There is a 10% discount on tickets purchased online.

Botanic Gardens [1.5km]
The riverside City Botanic Garden has a number of attractions including Bamboo Grove, Weeping Fig Avenue, Mangrove Boardwalk and ornamental ponds along with the River Stage for special events such as concerts and offers 10 outdoor designated booking areas that may be reserved for wedding ceremonies or corporate functions. The areas range from scenic lillyponds, intimate small areas or large open grassed areas.
The City Botanic Gardens are only a 10-15 minute walk from the city centre with entrances on George Street (in front of Parliament House), via the Goodwill Bridge or Alice Street (at the intersections of either Edward Street or Albert Street).
